Argentine tourism industry developed favored by the magnitude of the wealth of the attractions of our country. The richness of landscapes, and the important tourist infrastructure that has Argentina, allows having a wide and varied tourism offering. From Quiaca to Ushuaia, and from Andes to the Atlantic Coast, Argentina has a wide range of tourist destinations, with a variety of climates and different scenarios, and the most spectacular landscapes.

Panorama of the Argentine Tourism Industry

In recent years, domestic tourism has grown in both summer and winter, favored by the policy of increasing long weekends. It has also increased the development of adventure tourism, rural, ecotourism, cultural, mini-tourism, tourism for school children and for the elderly.

Buenos Aires is the main tourist center of the country by the number of national and international tourists arriving in.

Like other economic activities, Argentine Tourism Industry and its incoming tourism was impacted by the distortion introduced by the exchange rate appreciation experienced currencies. It is also estimated that tourists use the informal exchange market and foreign exchange reserves do not reach the Central Bank.

For the Argentine Tourism Industry in 2005, around 3,700,000 tourists visited Argentina, generating foreign exchange for 3.254 billion dollars. (INDEC)
