The poet essayist and critic, Luis Ricardo Furlán was born in Buenos Aires, on November 15, 1928.

Luis Ricardo Furlán has published, among other works: Los días fraternales (1958), Deslinde del tiempo y el ángel (1963), El laurel y el átomo (1969), La poesía lunfarda (1972), Aprendizaje de la Patria (1975), Generación poética del ’50 (1975), Guitarra sola (1981), Aula poética (1985), Urdimbre y resplandor del inocente (1987), Esquema de la poesía lunfardesca (1996), Los poetas del Medio Siglo (1997), y Soledades de la Vida precaria y Otros Exilios (1998).

He has obtained several distinctions: Honor Belt from the SADE, Argentine Society of Writers; Almafuerte Grand Honor Prize, Municipal Essay Prize, OAS Rubén Darío Prize, García Lorca Prize (California), Consecration Prize of the Province of Buenos Aires.

He was Secretary of the PEN International Club (Argentine Center), emeritus Member of the Academia Porteña del Lunfardo, and the Argentine Society of Writers Director.
